Gartner is actually located in Irving (and technically Las Colinas). Las Colinas is a business district that is roughly about 20 minutes away from Downtown Dallas and on the north side of Irving. The Las Colinas area is safe and full of young professionals. It also has a fantastic lake “canal” to walk along and enjoy during the day or night with restaurants. It would mean basically little to no commute to live in Las Colinas!
However, many Gartner Dallas grads also explore living in the Uptown Dallas area or areas directly nearby Uptown. Uptown Dallas is right by Downtown Dallas, so consider the commute about 15-20 minutes away. Uptown Dallas it the #1 most popular area for new & recent grads to live in the Dallas area. Picture something like 6th street in Austin, or the Houston Inner Loop. The great thing about living in Uptown Dallas while commuting to Gartner is that it is “AGAINST” traffic, so you are driving the opposite direction of most people. That means a shorter, more trouble free commute.
You might also consider other areas near Uptown Dallas to experience a similar commute and are also popular. They include Trinity Groves Dallas, Design District Dallas and Bishop Arts Dallas. These areas are about the same distance as Uptown to get to work and are usually a little cheaper than Uptown.
